I feel so blessed. Every morning I get to wake up and create something of beauty that I know will one day make someone else happy. My name is Cathy Dailey, and Romancing the Earth Jewelry is more than my business, it's also my passion in life.

I like to think I have always been a creative person. But I haven't always had the good fortune to spend all my time on that creativity. I used to be an investment banker, working 14 hours a day and stressing about work the other 10, or so it seemed. Then I had my daughter, Lauren, and like anyone who's had a child, my priorities changed--drastically. I not only wanted to spend time with her, I wanted her to know and appreciate the beauty in our world.

From about the time she was three, I began taking Lauren with me to gemstone shows and bead stores. I also started reading everything I could get my hands on about gemstones. Then I began making jewelry pieces for members of my family. Pretty soon my entire clan was sporting Cathy Creations.

Then a friend of mine invited me to set up a trunk show one day in her Orlando beauty salon. Reluctantly, I agreed to give it a try. I ended up selling nearly every piece I brought and even took orders for a few custom pieces! No one was more surprised than me! Suddenly, what had simply been a hobby, a creative outlet, became a business.

It's been over five years since that first trunk sale. My passion for creating gemstone and beaded jewelry has grown in leaps and bounds (much like my daughter!). And I am so delighted to be able to share my obsession with others. I'm also pleased that my labor of love gives me the ability to make ongoing donations (10% of all my sales) to various humanitarian efforts around the globe.
